HOUSE OF CRUEL LIMITED is the controller of personal data collected through the website. For privacy requests contact iam@houseofcruel.com with the subject “Privacy request”.

2. Data collected

We may process names, contact and delivery details, order history, returns and support correspondence, account information where accounts are enabled, payment transaction references, device identifiers, IP addresses and browsing preferences. Payment card data is handled by our authorised payment service providers; we do not claim to store full card numbers.

3. Purposes and legal bases

Contract: process payments, orders, delivery, returns and customer support. Legal obligation: accounting, taxation, consumer-law compliance and regulatory requests. Legitimate interests (subject to balancing): security, fraud prevention, site administration and service improvement. Consent where required: optional analytics, advertising cookies and electronic marketing.

4. Recipients and international transfers

Personal data may be shared on a need-to-know basis with Shopify, payment processors, customer support providers, carriers, our China-based fulfilment operator and an independent specialist returns provider (including its EU receiving facility and inspection staff). For returns, we share only what is needed to identify, receive, inspect and reconcile a return, such as order reference, name, contact details, item details, shipment tracking, reason for return and inspection photos where necessary. We remain the seller and controller of customer-facing return decisions. Transfers outside the EEA, including to China where relevant, require an applicable GDPR transfer mechanism and supplementary safeguards as appropriate.

5. Retention

We retain information only for the time necessary for the stated purpose, subject to Irish accounting/tax retention obligations, applicable limitation periods and legitimate dispute management.

6. Rights and complaints

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions. We may request proportionate identity verification where necessary. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie), or another competent supervisory authority.

7. Security and changes

We implement appropriate organisational and technical measures and review our providers. No online transmission is entirely risk-free. We may update this notice and will indicate the effective date of material changes.

8. Marketing and cookies

Marketing emails are sent only where legally permitted and include an unsubscribe method. Non-essential cookies and tracking are governed by the Cookies Policy and the consent interface.
